Christmas Trees and “Winter Wooly Pop Up”

Update 12/20

While our sale is pretty much over, we DO have a few trees left! They are available for self serve/donation next to the farm stand (walk around to the back by the driveway). We don't want anyone to go without a tree if it will make their holidays cheerier! Please come by regardless of whether or not a donation is possible!

Update 12/14/21

Christmas tree sales are winding down, but there still are plenty of Noble and Douglas firs (sized up to 6 ft) to choose from! Tree Sales are Thursday through Sunday, 10am-2pm. Seabird Bakeshop will be on hand on Saturday 12/18 and Sunday 12/19 from 10am-2pm with pastries and hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows!! This will most likely be our last weekend of tree sales.

Update 11/23/21

We have had a great turnout, and are pleased to say that we still have plenty of beautiful trees!! Open Thursdays through Sunday, 10-4pm. Next Saturday will be extra fun with the Pop-up and extra gifting options! AND, we will have a new batch of trees on Saturday too, so that's a good time to come if you're waiting for larger sizes.

Press release, 11/12/21

Lum Farm will be offering Christmas Trees this holiday season. Noble, Frasier and Douglas Fir trees from 2 ft. to 10 ft. will be available starting Friday, Nov. 26. Tree sale hours are Thursday through Sunday, 10am - 4pm at 1071 Crow Valley Rd. while supplies last (last year the trees sold out in less than two weeks!). Orcas Island Montessori will also have their Holiday Wreaths available on site.

The Lum Farm stand will also be open during tree sale hours, so please stop by for island-grown meats and cheese for your holiday gatherings, as well as an assortment of farm-inspired gifts. Tree sales are first come first served, but you can order online for Lum Farm meats and cheeses for pickup at the farm.

For instructions on how to best care for your tree, please see the National Christmas Tree Association's Care Tips.

The tree sale is a fundraiser. A portion of proceeds is donated to our island schools and the Orcas Community Resource Center Giving Tree. Last year, the response to the sale was astonishing (if not a tad overwhelming). Lum Farm was able to make donations to Kaleidoscope Preschool, the Montessori School, Salmonberry, Children’s House, the PTA Gingerbread House contest, and the Orcas Island Family Resource Center!

Lum Farm is also thrilled to host it’s 2nd annual “Winter Wooly Pop Up” on December 4th from 10am - 5pm. This event features pop-up booths of the felted ornaments of Bossy’s Feltworks, hand-crafted porcelain ornaments by Crystal Mossman (multi-talented Lum Farm Cheesemaker), stunning hand-woven rugs and sheepskins, wool socks, yarn and more. To top off the festivities, the goat petting zoo that won over hearts during October’s Farm Tour will also be open and ready for goat kid enthusiasts.

The tree sales and pop up event will be following COVID-safe protocols. All Lum Farm employees are fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks. There tends to be a crowd, so we ask that masks are worn inside, and outdoors when social distancing isn’t possible. We look forward to everyone’s holiday cheer, patience, and community spirit!
